The firm of WolfBlock last month presented an interactive webinar titled The Sexual Harassment Quiz. The session focused on supervisory training aimed at compliance with California law.
The webinar was modeled after a training program created by WolfBlock attorney Jonathan Segal and was the focus of a television program produced by WHYY, the Philadelphia public television station, and broadcast on more than 200 PBS stations.
Among the topics covered in the webinar were: practical examples of inappropriate behaviors of a sexual, suggestive or gender-biased nature; other types of unlawful harassment under federal and California state law - race, ethnicity, age, disability, religion, and sexual orientation; intent versus impact - role of power in assessing appropriateness; responding to inappropriate behavior, even in the absence of a complaint; dealing with harassment by clients, customers, vendors or other third parties; internal complaint procedure for concerns regarding harassment, discrimination and retaliation, and damages for unlawful harassment, discrimination or retaliation under federal law and California state law.
