WMACCA Slates General Counsel Forum

The Washington (DC) Metropolitan Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel-America (WMACCA) next month is planning its annual General Counsel Forum.

The session will take place on Thursday, June 10 from noon to 2 p.m. at a location still to be determined.

WMACCA's signature educational program gives attendees the opportunity to hear from general counsel at a variety of organizations with differing sized legal departments and different approaches to the legal function.

Participants will learn how these general counsel handle staffing issues inside and with outside counsel, the big issues on their desks this year, and the way they straddle the legal/business role.

Eric Reicin, associate general counsel of Sallie Mae, will serve as discussion moderator. Among the speakers will be Sheila Cheston, vice president and general counsel, BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc.; Lawrence Greenberg, chief legal officer, The Motley Fool Inc.; Anastasia Kelly, executive vice president and general counsel, MCI, and Ellen J. Vargyas, general counsel, American Legacy Foundation.
