WESFACCA Will Offer SeminarOn International Data Management

WESFACCA this month has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Virtual Border Crossings: International Data Management, Disclosure and Discovery.

The program will take place on Thursday, September 28 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Woodway Country Club, Darien, CT. Breakfast and registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The speakers will be Kenneth Rashbaum, Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold, LLP, and Sean Garvey, Novus Consulting Group. Among the topics they will discuss are:

Trans-border management of data and the legal and compliance issues involved in retention, discovery and disclosure of data from Europe, Canada, Asia and Latin America;

Managing the business and legal data preservation and transmission risks in an increasingly global business environment;

Differences between data retention, security and confidentiality requirements in the U.S. and EU countries, Latin America, Canada and Asia (in some countries, disclosure of electronic documents containing certain personal data may be a criminal offense).
