Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP Plans Antitrust Seminar Series

Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP will offer a series of seminars on Antitrust law.The first seminar, entitled Distribution Issues, will take place on Thursday, March 2 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.Speakers will include Irving Scher, Alan J. Weinschel, and Scott Martin of Weil Gotshal.Bob Hubbard, Director of Litigation, Antitrust Bureau Office of the New York Attorney General, will be a guest speaker.

Topics will include unilateral minimum resale price and minimum advertised price policies, loyalty and market share discounts and bundling policies, dual distribution, increased areas of Robinson-Patman risks, and internet issues.

The second seminar, entitled Fundamentals of U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Investigations, will take place on Tuesday, April 25 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.Speakers will include Paul Victor and Steve Reiss.

The seminar will address criminal investigations by the Department of Justice, including what to do after receiving a grand jury subpoena, the importance of a speedy and complete assessment of potential antitrust exposure, dealing with employees and executives who face criminal exposure, the pros and cons of cooperating with the Antitrust Division, the impact of the criminal investigation on civil suits, and cooperation and coordination among antitrust enforcement agencies in international cartel investigations.
