Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association (WMACCA) Elects New Officers

Marian Block, vice president and associate general counsel of Lockheed Martin Corporation, has begun her tenure as the 24th president of the Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association (WMACCA).

With more than 1,100 in-house counsel members, and celebrating its 25th anniversary, WMACCA is the premier professional association for in-house counsel in Washington, DC, suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia. WMACCA is the second-largest chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel America (ACCA).

Ms. Block began her term at WMACCA's Annual Meeting in January.Among her goals for her term are to improve the profile of in-house counsel in the legal community and to ensure WMACCA is meeting the needs and interests of its members.

The following new officers were also elected: Eric D. Reicin, vice president and associate general counsel of Sallie Mae, was elected president-elect. Michael Finn, senior counsel of General Dynamics Corporation, was elected vice president and will also serve as program chair.Thomas D. Hickey, vice president and deputy general counsel of Nextel Communications Inc., was elected secretary.Joseph M. Titlebaum, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of XM Satellite Radio Inc., was elected treasurer.

The other members of the WMACCA Board of Directors, who were elected, reelected or continue to serve, are Kathy T. Barlow, vice president of Marsh USA Inc.; Linda R. Fannin, counsel - Downstream Law Department of Exxon Mobil Corporation; Mary E. Kennard, vice president and university counsel of American University; Kevin S. Lapidus, senior vice president and general counsel of YellowBrix Inc.;Robin McCune, attorney; Manik K. Rath, general counsel and corporate secretary of Logistics Management Institute; Mollie D. Roy, associate general counsel and assistant secretary of Freddie Mac; Judith S. Sapir, senior vice president and general counsel of APCO Worldwide; Robert A. Stern, senior vice president and general counsel of Sodexho Inc., and Rhonda S. VanLowe, legal counsel of Rolls-Royce North America Inc.
