Video Replays Planned Of SeminarOn Employing Foreign Workers In U.S.

Virginia CLE this month is offering video replays of a CLK seminar titled Help Wanted! How to Bring Foreign Workers to the U.S. at two northern Virginia locations.

Programs will take place on Tuesday, September 12 at the Holiday Inn Tysons Corner, 1960 Chain Bridge Road, Tysons Corner, VA, and on Thursday, September 14 at the Radisson Hotel Old Town, 901 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA. Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4:20 p.m.

This basic session attempts to answer questions such as:

Who can be hired? Who can't?

What document process is involved?

USCIOS, ICE, DHS, CBP, INS, DOS, DOL and DOJ - what are they?

How long can the employee work in the United States?

What are the employer's responsibilities to the employee and to the government?

What is an I-9 and what should the employer know about it?

How does the employer avoid discrimination claims?

How and when can an employer sponsor an employee to get a green card?

Among the seminar speakers are Valerie J. Brodsky, Vandeventer Black; Ankur (Andy) P. Dalal, associate counsel to the Department of Homeland Security, and Jonathan Ginsburg, a full-time immigration practitioner.
