The University of Texas School of Law CLE this month will present its Second Annual Mergers and Acquisitions Institute.
The conference will take place on Thursday and Friday, September 7 and 8 at the Fairmont Hotel, Dallas. Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on day one and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on day two.
Among the topics to be addressed are:
The role of hedge funds in the current M&A market, including tactics used to coerce change and defend against hedge fund attacks;
Deal protection - state-of-the-art negotiating and drafting techniques;
Roundtable of corporate deal makers - what they look for, what they avoid, and how they do deals;
Strategies for ethical issues - avoiding fraud after the contract, conduct of negotiations, and multijurisdictional aspects of M&A practice.
