The State Bar of Texas has scheduled its annual Employment Law Course for Thursday and Friday, January 22 and 23, at the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk, 111 Pecan Street East, San Antonio.
The seminar will go from 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Participants may come a day early for the Nuts and Bolts course, which begins at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday and adjourns at 5:45 p.m.
Course highlights include a presentation by EEOC General Counsel Ronald S. Cooper, an ADA and GINA update with moderator Brian East, senior attorney of Legal Services Advocacy, Inc., what you need to know about immigration issues, and emerging causes of action. Privacy Issues in the Modern Workplace - Wired in the Digital Age will be presented by Maria Nan Alessandra, Phelps Dunbar, and Linda Ottinger Headly of Littler Mendelson will present a religious discrimination session. Thursday's luncheon presentation, titled Effective Legal Writing, will be presented by Chad Baruch, the Law Office of Chad Baruch and assistant principal, Yavneh Academy of Dallas.
