On Thursday and Friday, August 11 and 12, the State Bar of Texas will offer its annual AdvancedWorkers' Compensation Law Course.
This annual program will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday at the Radisson Town Lake in Austin.
Highlights of the course include a luncheon commissioner's update with Rod Bordelon, commissioner of workers' compensation; hot topics in workers' compensation; appeals panel decisions attorneys should be citing; medical benefits for claimants; and litigation causation in the Crump case, intoxication cases and subsequent injury cases. A hearings officers roundtable will be moderated by Joe R. Anderson, Burns Anderson Jury & Brenner and will include several participants from the Workers' Compensation Division of the Texas Department of Insurance.
