Texas Bar Plans Two-Day ProgramOn Workers' Compensation Law

The State Bar of Texas this month will present its Third Annual Advanced Workers' Compensation Course.

The program will take place on Thursday and Friday, August 24 and 25 at the Austin Convention Center, 500 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, TX. Sessions run from 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on day one and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on day two.

Among the topics to be addressed over the two-day program are:

Delivery of medical care in and out of network;

Medical treatment pre-authorization;

Return to work guidelines;

Joint employers, independent contractors, and special employees;

Claims and defenses;

Workers' compensation process;

Wrongful death and intentional torts.
