State Bar Of Texas PlansAnnual Entertainment Law Institute

The State Bar of Texas this month will present its 15th Annual Entertainment Law Institute, a two-day conference that will examine the legal and business aspects of music, film and digital entertainment.

The event will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22 at the Omni Austin Hotel, Austin, TX. Sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on day one and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on day two.

Among the Friday sessions are:

The Global Copyright Protection System With Emphasis on Music, Film and Literary Works;

Copyright in the Digital World;

The Global Royalty Collection System for Music Publishers and Owners of Sound Recordings;

Ethics Issues for the Practicing Entertainment Lawyer;

Global Protection Strategy for Entertainment Industry Trademarks and Servicemarks;

Court Currents: A Practical Look at Recent Court Cases Impacting the Entertainment Industry.

On Saturday, sessions will include:

Resolving Royalty Claims and Disputes in the Music Business;

The Ever-Changing Record Business.
