The State Bar of Texas has scheduled its 25th Annual Advanced Tax Law Course.
The two-day program will take place on Thursday and Friday, August 30 and 31 at the Doubletree Hotel Downtown, 400 Dallas Street, Houston. Sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on day one and from 8:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on day two.
For those interested in a refresher course, a Nuts and Bolts Tax Workshop will be offered on Wednesday, August 29 at the same location.
Course highlights for the Advanced Tax Law Course will include: IRS Examination Update; Margin Tax Update; Tax Patents; LLCs - When (and When Not) to Use; Tax Controversy Hypothetical; Comptroller Update, and Employee Benefits for Closely-Held Businesses.
The course director is Tina R. Green, Patton, Roberts, McWilliams & Capshaw. Among the speakers will be Glenn Henderson, examination area director for Gulf states, IRS; Robert Ozer, assistant general counsel for administrative hearings, Texas Office of Comptroller, and Kevin Thomason, Thompson & Knight.
