On Wednesday, January 14, the Southern California Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel will sponsor a doubleheader: an MCLE program on Improving the View from the Boardroom: How to be a Good Director, followed by LA Lakers v. Denver Nuggets.The event, sponsored by Loeb & Loeb, LLP, will be held at the Staples Center Luxury Suites, 1111 Figueroa Street, Los Angeles.
In-house counsel are invited to bring management personnel or a board client as a guest to this special program.
In light of recent corporate scandals and the promulgation of stringent corporate governance regulations, the role of a corporate board member has never been more important or more difficult. This program will focus on the responsibility of board members to not only look at the big picture but also absorb and understand the legal and accounting details of running the company while being vigilant over management.
The MCLE program begins at 3:30 p.m., following registration at 3 p.m.; dinner and the game begin at 7 p.m.
