Seminar Will Probe Legal ChallengesFacing The Entertainment Industry

Two attorneys from the Los Angeles office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, Peter L. Haviland and Rex S. Heinke, this month are serving as program chairs for a CLE seminar titled Film & Television Law.

The program, sponsored by CLE International, will take place on Thursday and Friday, June 23 and24 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotelin Los Angeles. Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the first dayand from 9 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on the second.

The entertainment and media world is confronting some of the most unique and challenging legal problems in recent history. Panelists at this seminar will address hot-button, cutting-edge issues, while also exploring the fundamentals legal problems facing entertainment industry professionals.

Among other speakers at the sessions will be Tom W. Davidson, Akin Gump; Dean Garfield, vice president and director of legal affairs-worldwide anti-piracy, Motion Picture Association of America, and Ronald C. Wheeler, senior vice president-content protection, Fox Entertainment Group.
