Seminar Will Cover Variety Of IssuesIn Sports And Entertainment Law

The Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) on Friday, November 12 will present a basic-level CLE course titled Sports and Entertainment Law.

Speakers will address a variety of topics including:

  • Torts and Sports: Where Do You Draw the Line?
  • Antitrust and Professional Sports;
  • NCAA Enforcement;
  • Ethical Representation Of Professional Athletes;
  • Record Industry Do's and Don'ts: How to Avoid the Record Industry Scams;
  • Litigation in the Music Industry;
  • Publishing Rights.

The course planner for the day-long session is Marc J. Kessler, Hahn Loesser & Parks LLP. Among other speakers are Gregory W. Kirstein, general counsel, Columbus Blue Jackets; Heather R. Lyke Catalano, associate athletic director and director of compliance, Ohio State University; Julie Roe, director of enforcement, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and Katie Blackburn, executive vice president, Cincinnati Bengals.

The program will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. at the Nationwide Arena, 200 Nationwide Boulevard, Columbus, OH. Registration will start at 8 a.m.
