The DC Bar Association this month is planning a CLE seminar titled Representing Corporate Employees When Companies Get in Trouble With the Authorities.
The program, will take place on Monday, September 11 from 6 to 9:15 p.m. at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1250 H Street, NW, Washington, DC.
Providing the view from both prosecution and defense perspectives, this course will examine the increasingly common and complex issues that arise in representing individuals in the context of government investigations or corporate malfeasance.
Attendees will learn how to effectively handle the representation of corporate employees during internal investigations; what they need to know about the government's policies on investigating and prosecuting corporate malfeasance, including the Thompson Memo; the risks to employees created by the increasingly common deferred prosecution agreements, and the ethical and practical concerns raised by the representation of multiple employees.
