SCCE Northeast Compliance Conference

The Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics presents their annual Northeast Regional Compliance Conference on Friday, May 13.

The seminar begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 4:45 p.m. and is located at the offices of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, LLP at One World Financial Center in New York City.

Adam Turteltaub, vice president of SCCE, will open the day with a discussion of Risks in Assessing Risk. He will focus on common misunderstandings about the nature of risks, how the mind assesses risks and the mistakes we make.

Other topics include, When Compliance Programs Go Wrong, led by Jeff Kaplan of Kaplan & Walker LLP and Tim McCormack of Philips & Cohen LLP andmoderated by Bart Schwartz, a federal monitor. The panel will look at best practices, compliance and ethics programs and review a history of program failures. The discussion will look at how to avoid compliance program failures.

Michael Horowitz of Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP, Raja Chatterjee, global head, Anti-Corruption Group of Morgan Stanley and Matthew Tanzer, vice president of Tyco International will examine the state of anti-bribery enforcement and look at how compliance programs are helping that effort.

Other speakers include Meric Bloch, vice president, Adecco; Don Griffith vice president, Massmutual Financial Group; and Jude Curtis, chief ethics and compliance officer, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
