San Francisco Bay Area ACC Explores Class Action Waivers After AT&T Mobility v. Concepcion

On Tuesday, July 19, the ACC San Francisco Bay Chapter will host a roundtable discussion sponsored by Jackson Lewis LLP titled Class Action Waivers in Employment Agreements: The Aftermath of AT&T Mobility LLC v. Concepcion.

It will run from 9:00to 10:30 a.m. at the offices of Jackson Lewis, 199 Fremont Street in San Francisco.

Michael J. Loitio and Robert M. Pattison, both partners with Jackson Lewis LLP, will be joined by an in-house counsel panelist to discuss class action waivers - a discussion that will be of interest to those considering implementing or revising employment arbitration agreements. The U.S. Supreme Court recently struck down the California courts' refusal to enforce class action waivers in consumer arbitration agreements in AT&T Mobility LLC v. Concepcion. The ruling would appear to apply to arbitration agreements in the employment context as well. The panelists will explore the Court's ruling and its impact on class action litigation in California, and they will offer practical guidance on the preparation of class action waiver provisions in arbitration agreements.
