The New York City Bar Association has announced the results of its annual election to fill its leadership positions:
Roger Juan Maldonado has been elected the 68th President of the City Bar. He is a partner at the law firm of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, and was most recently Chair of the City Bar’s Task Force on Puerto Rico. He has also served as a Vice President and member of the Executive Committee, and as Chair of the Council on Judicial Administration, the Task Force on International Legal Services, the Task Force on Housing Court, and the Housing Court Committee.
Sarah Cave, of Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP; Matthew Diller, of Fordham Law School; and Brad S. Karp, of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, will serve as the City Bar’s three Vice Presidents.
Ira Feinberg, of Hogan Lovells US LLP, returns as Association Secretary. Damian Schaible, of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, returns as Association Treasurer.
Muhammad Faridi, of Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP, will serve as Chair of the Executive Committee and Jeffrey Winn, of Chubb Insurance Group, will serve as Secretary of the Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee Class of 2022 is: Brenna K. DeVaney, of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP; Harlan A. Levy, of Boies Schiller Flexner LLP;Sandra Park, of American Civil Liberties Union Women’s Rights Project; and Anna Pohl, of Thomson Reuters.
The City Bar’s Executive Committee consists of 16 elected members and six officers (who are ex officio members). The elected members of the Executive Committee are divided into four classes of four members each, with each class holding office for four years.
In keeping with the City Bar’s diversity objectives, of the 22 members, 13 are male and 9 are female; and 45% (10 of the 22) are from historically underrepresented groups.
