Proskauer Offers Program On Employment Law

The South Florida Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the firm of Proskauer Rose LLP will offer a breakfast series program titled A Fearful Walk through the National Labor Relations Act for the Non-Union Employer.

The program is on Thursday, August 11, at the offices of Proskauer Rose, LLP located at 2255 Glades Road in Boca Raton, Florida. It begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 11:00 a.m.

This session is designed for attorneys needing to brush-up on labor law. The program will assist attorneys working in the private sector to gain an understanding of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and how it applies to all private sector employers/employees, both union and non-union.

Allan H. Weitzman, partner in the Labor and Employment Law Department of Proskauer Rose LLP, will advise attendees on the common and mistaken thinking that the NLRA is irrelevant to private section employers because their employees are non-union. He will also discuss the rights of employees under the NLRA and advise how companies can become compliant with National Labor Relations Board interpretations of the statute in this period of accelerated union organizing, despite the apparent demise of the Employee Free Choice Act.
