Program To Feature Discussion Of EmergingSecurities Laws Issues



The DC Bar CLE Program and the DC Bar Corporation, Finance and Securities LawSection and the Criminal Law and Individual Rights Section will co-sponsor a program entitled Emerging Issues under Federal Securities Laws.It will be held on Thursday, February 5 from 6 to 9:15 p.m. at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1250 H Street, NW.

This course will feature a panel discussion between senior SEC officials and members of the bar and self-regulatory organizations on a broad range of contemporary issues facing corporations.Topics will include the duties of management in responding to corporate crises, heightened obligations under Sarbanes-Oxley, the conduct of internal investigations, and such corporate governance issues as shareholder access to the proxy rules, as well as the SEC's Enforcement Program.

The faculty, chaired by J. Bradley Bennett of Baker Botts LLP, includes: John J. Flood, vice president and associate general counsel, NASD; John M. Fedders, Law Office of John M. Fedders; and Russell G. Ryan, assistant director, Gregory G. Faragasso, deputy assistant director, and Sara W. Hirsch, special counsel, at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
