Proskauer announced that it has welcomed Robert H. Sutton as a Partner in its Private Funds Group. Based in Proskauer’s New York office, Rob will deepen the bench of regulatory expertise the Firm offers to clients.
Rob’s practice focuses on the regulation of managers and advisers of private funds, including private equity, credit, real estate, infrastructure, hedge and other private funds. With more than 20 years of experience, he regularly advises clients regarding the Investment Advisers Act, Investment Company Act and other related regulatory matters.
“As the regulatory environment evolves and the SEC implements new rules and regulations, Rob’s background counseling investment advisers and fund sponsors will provide unmatched guidance for our clients. He is a great addition to our team,” said Partner Howard Beber, co-head of the Firm’s Private Funds Group.

Rob has experience counseling a wide spectrum of clients, including many of the largest and most sophisticated firms in the asset management industry, as well as start-up organizations marketing their first products and mid-sized firms seeking to grow.

Rob received his A.B. from Harvard College and J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He joins from Kirkland & Ellis.
