Private Equity: Down But Not Out

The Colorado Bar Association has scheduled a live seminar titled Private Equity: Down But Not Out, Waiting for the Next Opportunity for Friday, December 19, at the CLECILarge Classroom, 1900 Grant Street in Denver.

The program will go from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. A video replay is scheduled for January 20 in Denver, Grand Junction, and Colorado Springs.

The markets are in turmoil, the economy is slowing, and credit is not available, but private equity opportunities are not dead - they just come in a different form, using more equity or other financing techniques. Opportunities also have opened up in distressed assets and debt.

Using a panel discussion format, the program will address the following topics: Changed Regulatory Environment and Market Landscape; Distressed Assets: Taking a Plunge in Murky Waters; Making Deals Work with Less Leverage and Making Old Deals Work in a New Environment; and Why Are You Buying? Strategic Versus Financial Acquisitions.

Panel moderators are Michael L. Platt, Cooley Godward Kronish, LLP; E. Lee Reichert, Kamlet, Shepherd & Reichert, LLP; Ryan A. Arney, Davis, Graham & Stubbs, LLP; and Nathaniel G. Ford, Faegre & Benson, LLP.
