Philadelphia Seminar Looks At Social Media In The Workplace

The Pennsylvania Bar Institute will offer a course titled Social Media in the Workplace: Facebook, Twitter, foursquare & Other Web 2.0 Sites on Tuesday, August 9, at PBI's CLE Conference Center at the Wanamaker Building in Central Philadelphia. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12:45 p.m.

Social networking is permeating the workplace like never before. Participants will learn what the rights and responsibilities of both employers and employees are in this age of easy technology. The faculty will explore the latest Web 2.0 applications with a demonstration of technology showing Twitter, foursquare, and other hot new sites. The speakers will offer scenarios with examples of Web 2.0 postings to enable attendees to determine whether or not the posts are actionable or not. There will be also be a segment focusing on ways to control employees' use of Web 2.0 sites, and whether it is ethical to compel an employee to have a presence on a Web 2.0 site to further the employer's business objectives. Learn what the employer's responsibilities are with the use of employees' Web 2.0 information without their consent.
