The Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) will offer its second annual Nonprofit Institute on Thursday, May 20.
Some of the topics to be addressed at the day-long session include:
The Basics of How to Apply for and Obtain Federal Grants;
Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector;
Compensation for Nonprofit Executives;
Fraud in the Nonprofit World;
How to Start and Run a Nonprofit Organization;
Sarbanes-Oxley and the Implications for Nonprofit Governance.
The course planning committee includes: Kenneth J.D. Boyden, University of the Sciences; Karl E. Emerson, Pennsylvania Bureau of Charitable Organizations; Joseph M. Geiger, Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations; Donald W. Kramer, Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, LLP; Penina Kessler Lieber, Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP; Mark Pacella, deputy Pennsylvania attorney general, and Robert D. Stets, Milton Hershey School.
The program will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the CLE Conference Center, Wanamaker Building, Juniper Street, Philadelphia.
