NYSBA To Present Legal Writing Seminars In Two Greater NYC Locations

The New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) this month is offering a CLE seminar titled Gaining an Edge: Effective Writing Techniques for the New York Lawyer in two locations in the greater New York City area.

Programs will take place on Wednesday, April 26 at the Long Island Marriott, 101 James Doolittle Boulevard, Uniondale, NY, and on Friday, April 28 at the Holiday Inn Martinique on Broadway, 49 West 32nd Street, New York City. Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., with registration starting at 8:30 a.m.

The featured speaker is the Hon. Gerald Lebovits, who authors a writing column for the New York State Bar Association Journal and is a judge of the New York City Civil Court, Housing Part.

Judge Lebovits will offer easy-to-remember and simple-to-understand methods of persuasive writing that will make a difference in court cases. Participants will learn the elements of writing a brief, from cover to conclusion, including story telling, organization, style, rhetoric, ethics and legal method.
