NY ACC-A Seminar Will FocusOn M&A Employment Issues

The Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel-America and the firm of Ford & Harrison this month are planning a CLE seminar titled Labor and Employment Issues in M&A.

The program will take place on Tuesday, October 26 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Yale Club, 50 Vanderbilt Avenue, New York City.

The session will focus on what in-house counsel need to know to frame the labor and employment issues involved in mergers and acquisitions. Having this knowledge will enable in-house counsel to help management avoid unnecessary legal complications as well as to interact effectively with outside counsel.

The program will attempt to answer the question: what are we looking for in due diligence? There will be special emphasis on the most complex and costly issues: benefits, executive compensation, and dealing with labor unions. The session also will cover common employee relations problems and provide an overview of the relevant laws of foreign countries.

Speakers at the program will be Judith Moldover, David Pearson and Kenneth Stein, Ford & Harrison, and Baba Zipkin, IBM Global Services.
