NY ACC-A Chapter To Honor Former Port Authority General Counsel

The Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel-America (NY ACC-A) this month is planning its Sixteenth Annual Membership Reception, Annual Meeting, and and the presentation of The Distinguished Service Award.

The special chapter event will take place on Tuesday, November 16 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Plaza Hotel, 59th Street, New York City.

This year's Distinguished Service Award honoree is Jeffrey S. Green, former general counsel of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and former president of the New York ACC-A chapter.

Mr. Green served as general counsel of the Port Authority from July 1991 to October 1 of this year. He joined the Port Authority as a computer programming trainee in 1965, transferred to the Law Department in 1969 upon graduation from New York University Law School and held progressively more responsible positions within the Law Department until his election as the Port Authority's fifth general counsel in 1991.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Green was involved in the major decision-making and financing activities of the Port Authority during periods of growth and development, as well as the adversity surrounding the attacks on the World Trade Center in 1993 and 2001.
