To help put corporate counsel in a better position to integrate legal analysis into the business environment, the Northeast Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel America thismonth is planning a seminar titled Mini-MBA: Business Skills for In-House Counsel.
The program will take place on Wednesday, November 16 at the Executive Leadership Center, Boston University School of Management, 595 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston.
The firm of Leboeuf, Lamb, Green & MacRae LLP has teamed up with Boston University's School of Management to provide a "mini-MBA" where attendees will learn critical business skills and concepts from BU's business school faculty.
From getting the tools to understand a company's strategic direction, to business valuation, to leadership skills, to grasping the meaning behind the numbers, this session will increase participants' value to the enterprise and make them more comfortable as a business partner.
The featured speaker will be Chris Kearney, formerly general counsel and current president and CEO of SPX Corporation, who will discuss the challenges of making the transition from law to business and the value of attorneys with business accumen.
