NJCCA Programs To Examine ERISA, Law Department Purchasing

The New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association (NJCCA) this month has scheduled a pair of seminars covering issues of interest to in-house counsel.

On Tuesday, April 25, NJCCA is offering a program titled A Discussion of ERISA from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at The Park Avenue Club, 100 Campus Drive, Florham Park, NJ.

The program will cover ERISA's civil enforcement provisions, exclusive remedies, remedies and how they are applied, key provisions, and statutory definition of a participant.

The featured speakers will be Kevin M. Covert, vice president and deputy general counsel-human resources, Honeywell International, and Douglas E. Motzenbecker, Podvey Meanor Catenacci Hildner Cocoziello & Chattman.

On Friday, April 28, NJCCA will present Introduction to the Law Department Purchasing Consortium from 8 to 11:30 am at the Hanover Marriott, Route 10, Whippany, NJ.

The session will examine the newly established Law Department Purchasing Consortium, which is designed to level the playing field and provide leaders of law departments of all sizes the same market advantages and resources enjoyed by the largest buyers of legal and law-related services.

The moderator will be Peter Jenkins, president of Law Department Consortium LLC. Other speakers will include Gary Cohen, executive vice president, The Finish Line, Inc.; Sam Eberts, senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer, Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings; Murray Aust, senior counsel, Royal Bank of Canada; Forrest Morgan, vice president and general counsel, Law Department Consortium; Jeffrey Leon, Fasken Martineau, and Chip Lackey, executive vice president and chief sales officer, Allegient Systems.
