Minnesota State Bar ProgramTo Review Real Estate Law Basics

The Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) this month is planning a CLE seminar titled The Basics of Real Estate Practice.

The program will take place on Wednesday, August 9 at the Minnesota CLE Conference Center, Seventh Street and Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis.

Among the issues to be examined are:

An overview of the parties and documents involved in a typical purchase or sale of real estate;

How to draft accurate legal descriptions and how to identify and solve problems that arise with them;

Title issues, including title opinions, insurance and objections; evidence of title; clearing title;

Terms and procedures that surround commercial purchase agreements;

How to prepare for a closing;

Contents of a letter of intent and commonly negotiated commercial lease provisions.
