MICPEL Slates 'Land Use Institute'



The Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers (MICPEL) has scheduled its Land Use Institute for Wednesday, May 19.


The institute, presented in cooperation with the University of Baltimore School of Law and the University of Maryland School of Law, is a day-long program featuring an update of the most important cases decided during the past five years by Maryland's highest court.


Presenters include the Hon. Dale R. Cathell and the Hon. Glenn T. Harrell Jr. of Maryland's Court of Appeals, regarded as two of Maryland's most respected members of the bench on issues involving land use law. Panelists also will include land use attorneys and planners with extensive "hands on" experience.


The program will conclude with a practice tips session by members of the judiciary, public agency decision makers and private practitioners.


Serving as co-chairs for the event are Stanley D. Abrams, Abrams, West & Storm, P.C.; Kathryn J. Dahl, Hyatt Peters & Weber; John J. Delaney, Linowes and Blocher LLP, and Nancy L. Slepicka, Fosset & Brugger, Chartered.


The program will take place from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Hilton Inn, 5485 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, MD.
