MICPEL Program To Examine Basics Of Employment And Labor Law

MICPEL and the Maryland State Bar Association Section of Labor and Employment Law this month will present a two-part seminar titled Fundamentals of Employment and Labor Law.

Part I will take place on Tuesday, May 9 and Part II will take place on Tuesday, May 16. Each session will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ecker Business Training Center, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia, MD.

Some of the day one discussion topics will include: Contractual Rights; Wage and Hour Issues Under the Fair Labor Standards Act; and Federal Employment Statutes.

Day two topics will include Employment Discrimination; Sexual Harassment Claims and Gender Discrimination; Age Discrimination; and EEOC Procedures.

Among the speakers will be John M. Singleton, Singleton, Gendler & Terrasa; Harriet E. Cooperman, Saul Ewing LLP, and the Hon. Susan K. Gauvey, magistrate judge, U.S. District Court.
