The subject of intellectual propertywill be addressed this month by Massachusetts CLE in a seminar titled Sophisticated Intellectual Property Issues.
The program will take place on Wednesday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at the MCLE Conference Center, 10 Winter Place, Boston.
This program is for intellectual property and licensing lawyers, business lawyers involved in licensing deals, and non-lawyer negotiators (such as vice presidents of business development and contracts managers). An experienced faculty explains what you need to know to negotiate complex licenses, avoid traps in international deals and help clients develop long-term licensing strategies.
Participants can expect to learn:
- How to develop successful in-bound and out-bound licensing programs, including protection from dissolutions and bankruptcies;
- How to license and transfer technology within an international setting;
- How to identify and address special licensing issues that arise in the life science industry;
- How to recognize and deal with issues arising in the license of music, movies and images;
- What new developments should affect how you advise clients on licensing issues.
Specific discussion topics will include: Licenses and Reorganization in Bankruptcy; Licensing of Music and Other Entertainment Content; Biotech Licensing, and International Licensing.
