Preston Hurrell, a McGuireWoods debt finance counsel in Charlotte, joined Bank of America on July 19, 2021, as assistant general counsel. In this role, he drafts and negotiates complex commercial contracts, addresses regulatory issues, and coordinates outside counsel, among other responsibilities. His last day at the firm was July 16.
Since joining McGuireWoods in 2010, Hurrell focused his practice on corporate and commercial lending transactions, including asset-based and cash flow financings, syndicated and nonsyndicated finance transactions and debt subordinations and restructurings. He has represented borrowers, banks and other financial institutions in leveraged finance transactions in the healthcare, timberlands, retail, media, communications and manufacturing industries.
“My tenure at McGuireWoods has afforded me the chance to work with some of the firm’s top clients on their most important business issues,” said Hurrell, who has been seconded at Bank of America since 2018. “Over the years, I’ve been lucky to work with and get to know so many great lawyers and staff professionals at McGuireWoods.”
“Preston has long been a trusted member of the debt finance team who can handle complex matters and build strong relationships with clients,” said Raj Natarajan, chair of McGuireWoods’ Debt Finance Department. “We know he will have great success in his new role.”
