On Thursday, October 13, the Los Angeles County Bar will present its annual Healthcare Law Compliance Symposium.
It will run from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Marriott Los Angeles, 333 S. Figueroa Street in Los Angeles.
Virtually every aspect of the healthcare industry is subject to a complex web of federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and government efforts to enforce these laws have become increasingly common and successful. With the passage of healthcare reform, enforcement has intensified, and the need to function in this changing landscape has never been so important.
Among the issues the bar will review are how to avoid being the target of a fraud and abuse or Stark prosecution; compliance issues in structuring and operating ACOs; key issues in healthcare mergers and acquisitions; and responding to government and private payor audits.
Among the speakers are Mary C. Andrues, Arent Fox LLP; Daniel K. Settelmayer, Latham & Watkins LLP; and Adam D. Winkler, UCLA School of Law.
