Kelley Drye Seminar To ExamineProposed Intellectual Property Reforms

Will the Federal Trade Commission and Congress strangle business? A patent reform movement is under way in both bodies to limit the rights of intellectual property holders.

The firm of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP will focus on this movement this month in a seminar titled The Coming Storm Over Intellectual Property and Patent Reform.

The program will take place on Wednesday, November 30 from 8 to 10 a.m. at The Tower Club, 800 Towers Crescent Drive, Tysons Corner, VA.

Some of the reform recommendations include:

Allowing post-grant review within the Patent and Trademark Office to weed out questionable patents;

Limiting litigation over willful infringement;

Rescission of injunctive relief;

Expanding publication of patent applications.

This timely seminar will address these proposals and current high-profile cases such as Sprint v. Vonnage, Broadcom v. Qualcomm, IPXL Holdings v. Amazon and NTP, Inc. V. Research in Motion.

Speakers will be Glenn B. Manishin, Kelley Drye, and Peter F. Harter, Intellectual Ventures, LLC.

There is no registration fee for the program.
