Joy V. Cunningham BecomesPresident Of Chicago Bar Association

Joy V. Cunningham, a former Cook County (IL) judge and currently general counsel and senior vice president for Northwestern Memorial Hospital and its parent corporation, Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, has been seated as president of the Chicago Bar Association (CBA).

Ms. Cunningham is only the fifth woman and the first African-American and first corporate counsel to hold the post. Before becoming president, Ms. Cunningham served as the CBA first vice president.

Other CBA officers for the 2004-2005 year include First Vice President Michael B. Hyman, Much Shelist Freed Denenberg Ament & Rubenstein PC; Second Vice President Kevin Durkin, Clifford Law Offices; Secretary Daniel Riedy, Jones Day, and Treasurer E. Kenneth Wright, first municipal court presiding judge.
