In-House Counsel Invited To Join Boston Onsite Pro Bono Clinic

The Northeast Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel-America, CorporateProBono.Org, Lawyers Clearinghouse for Affordable Housing and Homelessness, Inc., and the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law of the Boston Bar Association this month are planning a Boston Onsite Pro Bono Clinic.

The event will take place on Thursday, November 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the offices of Goodwin Procter LLP, Exchange Place, 28 State Street, Boston.

Participants will have the chance to guide a Boston nonprofit organization through an assessment of its legal health. Participants will be provided with training materials and background information about their assigned nonprofit group in advance, and attorneys from Goodwin Procter will provide training on the legal needs of nonprofit organizations and will be available to guide participants through the clinic.

Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m., when a continental breakfast will be served. From 9 to 10:30 a.m., clinic participants will take a course on how to identify legal issues that affect nonprofit organizations, and from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., they will meet with the leader of a Boston nonprofit organization, to which they have already been assigned and whose background information they will have received, to provide an onsite "legal check-up."

The clinic is open to in-house counsel from all 50 states.

There is no registration fee for participating ACC members.

To register for the clinic, call Nima Rohani at (202) 662-9669 or e-mail [email protected].
