How To Protect IPAssets In China

The Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel America and the New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association this month are offering a program titled The Chinese Dragon Has Two Very Different Heads.

The program will take place on Friday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Reuters Building, 3 Times Square, New York City.

One thing that has become obvious early in the 21st century is that China has become a dominant force in international commerce. The program will examine the realities and the myths of doing business in China, especially the ways in which a company can protect its intellectual property assets while doing business in China.

The featured speaker is Dr. Lulin Gao, former commissioner of the Chinese Patent Office and currently president of the All China Patent Attorney Association. Other speakers will include Jaime Siegel, senior IP counsel, Sony Corporation; Richard C. Mosher, chairman of the ACC Council of Committees; Alex Montagu, general counsel, Lipper, Inc., and Wayne Elowe and Chris Woods, Kilpatrick & Stockton LLP.
