The Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the firm of Hunton & Williams LLP this month are offering a CLE seminar titled Challenge, Solutions and Compliance Over Accessing and Securing Data.
The program, co-sponsored by the International Privacy Committee of the New York State Bar Association's International Law & Practice Section and the International Association of Privacy Professionals, is set for Tuesday, May 10.
Panelists will discuss the challenges faced by domestic and multi-national corporations when working with internal and external data exchanges and storage. Encryption and other methods of securing data will be explained and reviewed to ensure that corporate operations employ proper systems considered reasonable by legal standards.
Mechanisms that target and expose the gaps in privacy programs to ensure compliance with company policies and statutory regimes within and outside the U.S. will be analyzed.
Program moderators will be Lisa Soto, Hunton & Williams, and Carole L. Basri, president, The Corporate Lawyering Group. Speakers will include Charles Miller, privacy program director, and Swati Dutta Roy, vice president information security, both from Merrill Lynch, and Michael Weider, CEO of Watchfire, Inc.
The program will take place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hunton & Williams offices, 200 Park Avenue, New York City.
