How To Negotiate Software Licenses

The Association of the Bar of the City of New York (ABCNY) this month has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Negotiating Software Licenses: Practical Issues You Need to Know.

The program will take place on Thursday, July 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at the House of the Association, 42 West 44th Street, New York City.

This seminar will cover the basic principles and issues you need to know to successfully negotiate a software license. The instructors will discuss the strategic goals behind the licensing agreement. The basic terms and conditions of the license will be explained and relevant rules and regulations will be addressed.

The instructors will conduct a mock negotiation of a software license, offering useful strategies and techniques for protecting a client's interests. Ethical issues also will be addressed.

The class instructors will be Andrew H. Lupu, senior counsel, InfoVista Corporation, and Marcy Gordon, associate director, Bear, Stearns & Company, Inc.
