How To Cover Complex Material In Clear Prose

Lawyers often assume their writing has to be difficult because their raw material is complex. The Association of the Bar of the City of New York this month is planning a video replay of a CLE seminar that suggests that this assumption is false.

The program, titled Writing for Practical Effect, is scheduled for Wednesday, August 17 from 9 a.m.to 5 p.m. at the House of the Association, 42 West 42nd Street, New York City.

The program will focus on the rhetorical, organizational and stylistic skills needed to write clearly and persuasively and establish credibility in the face of demanding audiences, but will not address the drafting of contracts and similar formal documents.

The instructor will be Steven V. Armstrong, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.
