How To Combat Unfair CompetitionClaims, Consumer Class Actions

The Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel America (NY ACCA) and the firm of Anderson Kill & Olick, P.C. this month will offer a CLE seminar titled Successfully Defending Unfair Competition Claims and Consumer Class Actions.

The program will take place on Thursday, June 8 from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Harvard Club, 27 West 44th Street, New York City. Registration begins at 3:30 p.m.

Defending unfair competition and consumer class actions has become a widespread problem for many companies, especially those that deal with the public. This seminar will lay out the essential defenses every company should know to combat these claims. Specific discussion topics will include: Types of Unfair Competition Claims; False Advertising Under the Lanham Act; Key Elements and Defenses: Consumer Protection Laws, and Consumer Class Actions.

Seminar speakers, all Anderson Kill attorneys, will be Steven Cooper, co-chair of the firm's Commercial Litigation Department; Mark L. Weyman, chairman of the Securities and Financial Institution Group; James Andriola, a member of the Intellectual Property and Commercial Litigation departments, and Melissa Rubenstein, a member of the Corporate and Commercial Litigation Group.
