On Wednesday, October 12, The University of Texas School of Law will offer the Fundamentals of Insurance in Houston. The course will be repeated on Wednesday, November 2, in Austin.
The course will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 5:05 p.m. at the Hotel ZaZa in Houston and at the AT&T Conference Center - Hotel at UT in Austin.
Among the topics under discussion are the structure and context of insurance contracts; understanding the players: who are they, what are their roles, and how do they operate in practice?; the claim-handling process from both sides; expert witnesses in insurance cases; and litigating insurance claims parts I and II - jurisdictions, parties and pleadings and rights, remedies and outcomes.
