The Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) this month has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Fundamentals of Antitrust Law.
The program will be offered twice, on Tuesday, June 22 at the Conference Center at Mellon, 501 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, and on Thursday, June 24 at the CLE Conference Center, Wanamaker Building, Juniper Street, Philadelphia.
Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.
This full-day program will provide attendees with a comprehensive overview of antitrust law. The panel of speakers will begin by explaining the purpose of the antitrust laws and the interests they protect, and then move into the most relevant substantive issues and the economics that one needs to know. Private litigation and federal enforcement also will be covered.
An ethics discussion will cover what you do when a client wants you to write a contract that violates the antitrust laws, joint defense agreements, judgment sharing agreements and common interest privileges, and relations with experts in testimony and consulting.
The course planners for the sessions are Charles P. Goodwin, Berger & Montague, P.C., and Barbara T. Sicalides, Pepper Hamilton LLP. Other speakers will include Bruce C. Fox, Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP; Carolyn H. Feeney, Dechert LLP, and John P. Bigelow, Princeton Economics Group.
