The DC Bar Association this month will launch its ERISA and Health Plans Series of seminars with two programs.
On Monday, June 21, DC Bar will present Part 1 - Compliance Issues.
This session will provide an introduction to the basic framework of ERISA and its application to employer-sponsored health plans, with an emphasis on compliance issues.
On Monday, June 28, DC Bar is offering Part 2 - Litigation Update.
This program will have a litigation focus with an emphasis on rights and remedies of participants in ERISA-covered plans (especially benefit claims and disputes and the right to sue), ERISA pre-emption of state law, and recent ERISA health plan litigation, particularly recent Supreme Court cases.
Phyllis C. Borzi, O'Donoghue & O'Donoghue, is serving as program chair for both programs.
Each session will take place from 6 to 9:15 p.m. at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1250 H St. NW, Washington, DC.
