DC Bar Continues Immigration Law Series

The DC Bar Association this month will continue a series of CLE seminars under the title What Every Lawyer Should Know About Immigration Law.

Part 3: Family-Based Immigration Law and Domestic Relations is scheduled for Monday, May 9. This session will examine family-based immigration and its interaction with domestic relations law, including adoption of foreign children, as well as separation and divorce. Special immigration options for battered spouses also will be addressed.

Part 4: Immigration Implications of Criminal Convictions is being offered on Monday, May 16. Speakers will provide an in-depth introduction to this topic, including how to structure pleas to avoid immigration consequences and how to best preserve client rights to assert defenses to removal.

The program chair for all sessions is Michael Maggio, Maggio Kattar, P.C.

Each session runs from 6 to9:15 p.m. at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1250 H Street, NW, Washington, DC.
