Colorado Bar Association Plans10-Week Real Estate Course

The Colorado Bar Association (CBA) this month will launch a 10-week Colorado Real Estate Practice Course.

Programs are scheduled for Tuesdays, September 12, 19 and 16, October 3, 17, 24 and 31, and November 7, 14 and 21. Each session runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the CBA-CLE Classroom, 1900 Grant Street, Suite 300, Denver.

The speakers will be Willis Carpenter and Holly Hoxeng, Carpenter & Klatskin P.C. This will be the 30th year that Mr. Carpenter and Ms. Hoxeng have taught this course.

Among the topics to be covered over the 10-week period are:

Overview of real estate practice and malpractice, recognized areas of liability and specialization;

Deeds and conveyancing, surveys, and land descriptions;

Title insurance, purchase and sale contracts, commercial and residential, and closings;

Financing;

Public trustee and judicial foreclosures, and quiet title actions.
