Chief Litigation Counsel Association Seeking Two New Members In 2005

The Chief Litigation Counsel Association (CLCA), a organization formed in 2001 to provide members with opportunities to share relevant knowledge and best practices, networking and training, is accepting recommendations for new members.

Membership in CLCA is by invitation only, and is now limited to approximately 35 in-house corporate attorneys who have chief and primary responsibility for the litigation involving their companies. Generally, these attorneys must have at least two other in-house attorneys managing litigation full-time who report to the member.

The present members include the chief litigation counsel from Abbott Labs, AGL Resources, Air Products and Chemicals, Altria/Phillip Morris USA, American Express, Bank Of America, BellSouth, Berkshire Hathaway/Shaw Industries, Boeing, ConocoPhillips, Deloitte & Touche, Deutsche Bank, DuPont, General Electric, General Motors, Intel, Intuit, Johnson & Johnson, Kimberly-Clark, Lehman Brothers, McDonald's, Motorola, Nestle USA, NiSource, Pfizer, Starbucks, The Home Depot, Time Warner, Microsoft, Tyco International, United Parcel Service, Viacom/MTV Networks, and Wachovia.

At the request of the group's members, the activities of CLCA are facilitatedby executive directors Jeff Pacquinand Jennifer Victor of Pacquin Victor LLP.

The initiatives and activities of CLCA have as their common purpose the promotion of higher standards of service to corporations by chief litigation counsel in the fields of substantive litigation, conflict management, legal department management and related areas. CLCA typically holds two general meetings each year, supports a member listserv, sponsors special projects, and engages in other relevant activities.

CLCA will be adding two new member companies this year. Those aware of a chief litigation counsel who might be recommended for membership may contact Mr. Pacquin at (770) 321-4367 or [email protected] or Ms. Victor at (404) 299-1179 or [email protected].
